Location: Stroom, Hogewal 1-9, The Hague
Open: Wednesday - Sunday: 12:00-17:00
Also open during The Hague Contemporary Art Weekend (1 - 3 July 2022).
With Saturday 2 July, 15.00 -17.00: a Meet & Greet with Ellen Yiu Kwan Kit

In the presentation at Stroom, Ellen Yiu Kwan Kit shows three installations. Each installation is a building block, representing a process in navigating through difficult situations in life, which together are like a meditation on the tenacity of the human spirit and healing. It explores the fragility, complexity and strangeness of life through personal experiences and the application of the I Ching, the 3000 year old mystical text from China that acts as an oracle for the future through a series of symbols.

The title of the presentation at Stroom - The rest of it is stillness - is a play on the words 'rest' and 'stillness'. Hidden in 'stillness' is the word 'illness'. Her work relates to current themes such as our search for safety and solidarity, the pandemic and the consequences of climate change and the threat of wars.
